Honoring Cultures Exhibit – Featuring We All Belong Traveling Exhibit – August 26
You are invited to attend the Reception featuring the We All Belong Grant Project photo journal. The grant that made this exhibit possible was awarded to the ACCC from the Minnesota State Arts Board. The exhibit includes the photojournalism from the six-week program lead by our very own President, Anne Krocak.

On August 22nd from 5 pm to 8 pm at Fireman’s Park in Chaska, we will be celebrating the release of The Songwriters and Musicians of Carver County Vol. Vll with a concert featuring music from the CD. Mark your calendar for the 2021 Edge of the Big Woods Art Wander in Carver County – September 24, 25 and 26th! 36 artists will be showing and selling their art at 15 studios located throughout Carver County. We are looking forward to our 9th year of this amazing display of the talents of local and regional artists.
Potters, painters, printers, jewelers, glass and fiber artists look forward to showing and demonstrating their work in unique “working studio” environments.
Our next exhibit, Honoring Cultures, opens on August 11. We celebrate the diversity of our cultures, backgrounds, and histories. We’ve asked artists to pull their creative juices together to expound on Honoring Cultures. Come and see the celebrations of uniqueness and togetherness that cultures represent.

Literary News Open Reading Event – August 3rd Close Encounters of Any Kind
On August 3rd, we are excited to present an Open Reading Event at the Chaska Community Center. Join us for a night of readings on the theme of “Close Encounters of Any Kind.” Authors of fiction, non-fiction, and poetry are invited to share their work. Please limit your selection to 5 minutes in length to allow as many as possible to read. Just show up by 7 pm, if you’d like to read come a few minutes early to sign up for a slot.
The public is invited to attend so feel free to invite family and friends. We will follow current CDC protocols to maintain everyone’s safety.
Before and after the performance you are invited to visit the gift shop and view the gallery exhibit, “Micro Mystery Tour.”

Music News – New Song Collective
We will be having The New Song Collective on October 7th and December 9th at the Chaska Community Center Theater. This is a gathering of Songwriters and Musicians performing original music. Christmas Music Show
On December 11th The Brueske’s will be doing a Christmas Music Show from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Chaska Community Center Theater. Watch our website for more details as the date gets closer.
Education Fall Classes
The CCC is working to put together Art Classes for the Fall 2021 catalog with our own ACCC teaching artists. We are excited to offer many new classes taught by an assortment of wonderful artists. New classes include: watercolor, memory tile class, acrylic painting, silk painting, fused glass hearts, glass enamel paint pour, and sensory explosion for youth and adults. Many of our classes can accommodate people with special needs. Come meet new friends while learning new ways to express yourself!
We All Belong OutDoor Photography Show
Photography created in the We All Belong workshop earlier this year will continue to “pop up” around Carver County this summer and early fall. These photographs document the 6-week long workshop about inclusion, self-acceptance, and valuing all members of our Carver County community. Art Tourism
The Art Tourism Committee worked with Carver County to have the latest barn quilt completed and installed at the Baylor Regional Park barn in Norwood Young America. We invited the public to participate in a naming contest to name this latest quilt. The winner was announced on July 20th, during the Taste of NYA, and was Jane Bauman of Excelsior, MN. Her winning entry was “Reasons for Seasons”. Congratulations! Jane received a gift basket filled with Barn Quilt gifts and souvenirs. The public is invited to view the new barn quilt at Baylor Park, which was created by ACCC artist Suzanne Thiesfeld!

Meet volunteer & artist Elizabeth Brommelsiek! Elizabeth has been a Chaska resident for over 20 years while enjoying teaching young children for District # 112. Now in retirement, she has combined her hobbies of sewing and painting to create unique home decor accent pieces with WATERCOLOR ON MUSLIN. Elizabeth is one of our main volunteers and trainer, who can share her Gift Shop experience and overall knowledge of the ACCC. We send a huge thank-you to Elizabeth for all she does for the ACCC! We appreciate Elizabeth and all our volunteers!

The Arts Consortium of Carver County, MN (“ACCC”), is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Executive Director role. This is an Independent Contractor position, working 20 hours per week within a flexible work schedule arrangement.
The ACCC is a non-profit 501c3 organization bringing Arts to the Communities and Communities to the Arts. In addition to our gift shop and gallery, we host many successful art fairs, music performances, festivals, art instruction, and literary events. We are located within the Chaska Community Center, in Chaska, MN.
The Executive Director is the key management leader of the ACCC and is responsible for overseeing the administration of operations, programming, strategic planning, and goal setting for the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing, initiative, and community outreach. The position reports to and works in tandem with the Board of Directors.
The ACCC welcomes qualified applicants to apply for this position regardless of their race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, marital status, national origin, status as a documented alien, or status as a qualified individual with a disability or protected veteran. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Board Governance: Works with the board in order to fulfill the ACCC’s mission.
Responsible for leading the ACCC in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function efficiently and to make informed decisions.
2) Financial Performance and Viability: Develops sufficient resources to ensure the financial health of the organization.
Lead fundraising initiatives and develop necessary revenues to support the ACCC’s mission.
Responsible for the fiscal integrity of the ACCC, including submission to the Board, a proposed annual budget, and monthly financial statements which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.
Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensuring maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
3) Organization, Mission, and Strategy: Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programming, strategic planning, and community outreach.
Responsible for implementation of the ACCC’s programs that carry out the organization’s mission.
Responsible for strategic planning and quarterly goals to ensure that the ACCC can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future.
Responsible for the enhancement of the ACCC’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professionals, civic and private organizations, including coordinating efforts in all 11 cities in Carver County and deepening connections in all of the City Councils, and area organizations.
4) Organizational Operations: Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriately managed.
Responsible for managing all contracted vendors. Also responsible for the onboarding, training, and retention of competent, qualified member volunteers.
Responsible for the effective administration of the ongoing ACCC operations.
Responsible for monitoring all contractual agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.
Actual Job Responsibilities
Report to and work closely with the President and Executive team of, and the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions, fundraising and to increase the overall visibility of the organization.
Collaborate with organization staff and volunteers.
Strategic planning and implementation along with goal setting.
Planning and operation of the annual budget.
Serve as ACCC’s primary spokesperson to the organization’s constituents, the media, and the general public.
Establish, maintain and utilize relationships with various city, county, and community organizations, ACCC members, and volunteers and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance ACCC’s Mission.
Expand local revenue-generating fundraising activities to support operational programming and regional expansion.
Deepen, refine and oversee all aspects of communications and marketing – from a web presence, print marketing, public news media, and event promotions to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
Oversee website administration and work closely to promote and move the ACCC’s public image in a forward direction.
Build presence and external relationships to garner new opportunities for the ACCC’s growth plan.
Design and complete a strategic business planning process for program expansion into new markets.
Attend and oversee the organization’s Board and committee meetings.
Establish administrative policies and procedures for all functions and for the day-to-day operations within the ACCC.
Review and approve contracts for services and present to the Board.
Utilize effective data-driven systems to track progress, and regularly evaluate and measure successes of program components to be shared with the board, funders, etc.
Other duties collaboratively agreed upon by the Board of Directors.
Professional Qualifications Needed
A Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in non-profits.
Transparent and high integrity leadership.
Three or more years of nonprofit management experience.
Past experience working with a board of directors and the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships.
High-level strategic thinking and planning. Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, and donors.
Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to donors, members, volunteers, and the overall community.
Demonstrated leadership ability to oversee and collaborate with staff, volunteers, and members.
A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results through data-driven analysis.
Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community and finding untapped resources.
Previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies, volunteers, members, and community.
Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation.
Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making, and reporting.
Strong written and oral communication skills and a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning.
Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
Passion for the Arts, idealism, integrity, and positive attitude, mission-driven and self-directed.
Strong public speaking ability.
Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy.
Ability to effectively communicate, delegate and facilitate team building within the organization.
Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven evaluation.
Actively engage and energize ACCC’s volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders.
Develop, maintain and support a strong board of directors: serve as ex-officio of each committee, seek and build involvement with strategic direction for both ongoing and local operations.

Pull your creative juices together to expound on Honoring Cultures for our Honoring Cultures Exhibit. Family as we know it, what celebrations come to mind, and how do you honor the past, present, and into the future. Community and how we perceive it, does where and how you celebrate honor your culture? How do you represent bringing together with other cultures other than your own and how it centers within your community and life. This may be where you celebrate the uniqueness of others.

EXHIBIT/ART GALLERY HOURS
Monday – Saturday; During the Chaska Community Center hours, the Gallery will be open even when we are closed in the Gift Shop. Gift Shop Hours are Wednesday-Friday 11-6 and Saturday 9-4, or consistent with available volunteer staff and CCC current COVID protocols at the time.

Information about eligible works can be found on our Gallery Standard Categories & Guidelines page. Please read before you submit your Entry Fee below. Please feel free to contact us via phone or email if you have any questions. The ACCC reserves the right to curate the work upon submission. 40% commission due to the ACCC following the sale of artworks.

We will notify all artists via email regarding acceptance to the exhibit by the Notification of Acceptance date listed above. If space provides, we may contact you to submit additional work for the show.
PROMOTION
The show will be promoted through postcards, flyers, social media, ACCC newsletter, and local papers. Exhibiting artists will pick up Exhibit postcards to hand out and help promote the Artists’ Reception and the Exhibit, pick up at Art Drop off. Copy the image of the postcard below and post it on your website and social media.
Membership is not required to be in the show. We invite you to join if you are a nonmember to enjoy many benefits and to save on entry fees. To join the ACCC, go to our Membership page, renewals can be done on the Account page on our website.
Members, please SIGN IN to your ACCC Account to Register and pay the Entry Fee online. If you haven’t signed into your ACCC Membership Account for a while, please go to our Account page for instructions and to request your password. Membership status questions can be sent to membership@artsofcarvercounty.org. If your account is past due, you will not be able to pay the Member Rate Entry Fee until annual membership fee is paid.

This is a “Bring your beverage/snack/chair/blanket” affair, with very limited capacity to keep it small and intimate (30 guests).
